Clinton Global Initiative

The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) 2022 Meeting wrapped with the announcement of 144 new Commitments to Action that address climate resilience, health equity, inclusive economic growth, and global refugee resettlement. For the first time since 2016, CGI brought together global and emerging leaders to take action on the world’s most pressing challenges.

We are honored to announce that the Clinton Foundation has selected the Austin Healthcare Council as one of 140 new global Commitments to Action selectees at the Clinton Global Initiative Summit held in New York City in conjunction with the United Nations General Assembly. The pledge addresses a wide-range of pressing issues, including the refugee resettlement, climate resiliency, economic inclusion, education and health equity. At this Summit, we elevated our Medical Respite Facility’s template format as a measurable, scalable solution to provide healthcare and more importantly catalyst to break the cycle of homeless by providing wrap around supportive and recuperative services to our homeless population, locally, nationally, with potential global reach.

The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global and emerging leaders to create and implement solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. CGI works with partners to drive action through its unique model. Rather than directly implementing projects, CGI facilitates action by helping members connect, collaborate, and develop Commitments to Action — new, specific, and measurable plans that address global challenges. Through CGI, the community has made more than 3,700 Commitments to Action worldwide that have made a difference in the lives of more than 435 million people in more than 180 countries.
