This membership (by invitation only) meeting, scheduled for May 28th at 2pm, will be held via WebEx.

As vice dean for the Health Ecosystem, Mini Kahlon, Ph.D., drives the Dell Medical School enterprise focus on innovation to improve health outside the clinic, addressing the broader drivers of health including food and nutrition, physical activity, behavioral change, and social isolation. She also oversees Dell Med’s work to advance new health products, drugs, devices, diagnostics, and digital health tools, leveraging the diverse strengths of The University of Texas at Austin and the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Austin. Kahlon is also the founder and director of Factor Health, a real-life health provider network that tests and builds businesses that improve health outside the clinic. Factor Health launched in early 2019 in Austin, in partnership with the Episcopal Health Foundation, and expanded to Houston in July 2019.

Ruben Rathnasingham has more than 15 years of biomedical leadership experience in several companies founded on technologies invented and developed in academic institutions. In his current role as the assistant dean for health product innovation at Dell Medical School, he is responsible for creating and growing initiatives to support health-related translational research at UT Austin. Most recently, he was associate director of early translational research at the University of California, San Francisco, where he helped develop and led the UCSF Catalyst Program that successfully leveraged industry partners to help identify, support, and translate technologies through and out of the university. Prior to his tenure in academia, Rathnasingham co-founded and grew a number of health care companies including StrataGent Life Sciences, where he helped develop a needle-free, wearable infusion pump that was honored with a 2010 Edison Award for Best New Product.
